Our Story
Woodland, California is one of the Sacramento Valley's most historic and vibrant communities — and one of its most underreported. We started Good Morning, Woodland to change that.
The Woodland Daily Democrat has been shrinking for years. City council meetings go uncovered. New businesses open without anyone knowing. School board decisions that affect thousands of families happen in near-silence. Community events get buried or missed entirely.
Meanwhile, half of Woodland's 62,000 residents — our Hispanic and Latino neighbors who built this farm town alongside everyone else — have almost no local media that speaks to them in their language or reflects their lives.
Good Morning, Woodland was born out of a simple belief: every community deserves a trusted, consistent, local voice. Not a national chain pretending to be local. Not a social media algorithm. A real newsletter, written by people who live here, for people who live here.
We publish every Tuesday and Thursday. We cover city hall, schools, local businesses, community events, and the stories that make Woodland worth living in. And we do it in both English and Spanish — because that's who Woodland is.

"Woodland is the City of Trees — proud, rooted, and full of life. Our newsletter is built in that same spirit."
Every story we cover, every deal we feature, every event we highlight — it's all in service of Woodland's people, not clicks or algorithms.
We're not a chain. We're not a tech company. We're your neighbors, writing about your city. The City of Trees deserves a newsletter that loves it back.
Consistency is how trust is built. Every Tuesday and Thursday morning, Good Morning, Woodland lands in your inbox — no exceptions.
